Returns & refunds
Last updated 25 October 2026
Most items on Retaged are sold by private people, not shops. This page explains when you can get your money back.
Changing your mind
The 14-day right to cancel online purchases applies to buying from businesses. It doesn't usually apply when you buy from a private person, so there is no automatic return if you change your mind or an item doesn't fit.
Before you buy, check the size and measurements, look at every photo, and use "Message seller" if you're unsure. A seller can agree to take an item back, but they don't have to.
Changed your mind straight after buying? Until the seller posts the item, you can ask to cancel from your order page. If the seller agrees, you're refunded in full. Sellers can also cancel if they can't send the item, and you're refunded in full.
If something goes wrong
If your item isn't posted, doesn't arrive, or isn't as described, Buyer Protection gives you a full refund, including postage and the Buyer Protection fee. See what's covered and how to report a problem:
When the money arrives
Refunds go back to the card you paid with. Your bank usually shows them within 5 to 10 working days.
Buying from a business seller
If you buy from a trader, you also have your full legal rights under UK consumer law, including the 14-day right to cancel. Buyer Protection doesn't affect any of your legal rights.
